OverviewFFT Therapist-Youth Impacted by Gang Violence At Risk Youth Ages 11 to 18Full-Time, Flexible Schedule, $25.00-$28.00/hourThe Salvation Army of the Syracuse AreaOverview: The Salvation Army of the Syracuse Area was recently awarded by the Department of Justice a grant to provide Functional Family Therapy to those at risk individuals between the ages of 11 to 18 with the overall goal to drive the reduction of Gang Violence within the Syracuse Community. It is an honor to be selected and we are seeking an individual to be a trustworthy go-between , with ties to the community in which they will work, who has the drive, knowledge and compassion to connect with this at risk group of Youth in our community.As an FFT-CW (Functional Family Therapy-Child Welfare) Case Planner II you will receive evidence-based training from FFTLLC consultants as well as ongoing consultation regarding working with at risk families and youth through the FFT-CW lens and utilizing the interventions of this model. You will be taught how to motivate families for change, assess family patterns, implement specific and individualized behavior change plans to address referral problems and relevant risk factors, and generalize changes in multiple systems. Working with a caseload of 10-12 families, the goal is to increase protective factors, while also reducing the risks associated with family safety, and prevent the need for out of home placement of children.SEEKING: Dedicated individuals looking to begin or expand their clinical experience working with family systems and gain experience practicing an evidence-based model in a supportive work environment.As an FFT (Functional Family Therapy) Case Planner II you will receive evidence-based training from FFTLLC consultants as well as ongoing consultation regarding working with at risk families and youth through the FFT lens and utilizing the interventions of this model. Provide services based on FFT model (e.g. engage and motivate families for changing family dynamics, maintaining sustainable change). Maintain FFT notes, statistical information, outcome monitoring and provide ongoing clinical assessments and case recommendations utilizing model derived information.Engage and maintain regular contact with assigned clients, meeting regulatory requirements by conducting meetings of significant duration weekly (minimum one contact per month with children present), conducting therapy sessions of appropriate duration/frequency in accordance with the FFT model.Work collaboratively with families in devising and implementing FFT service plans, as well as strategies of intervention for the family considering all aspects of the family s life and targeting behavioral change using FFT methodology.Maintain comprehensive assessments of families, devising and implementing individualized service plans in collaboration with the Department of Social Services (DSS) and all family service providers, utilizing strategies of intervention with consideration to family strengths and all aspects of the family s life and cultural background.Providing casework/counseling, crisis intervention, networking advocacy, coordinating services with other service providers, agencies and programs and making referrals for auxiliary services as needed under direction of their supervisor and the DSS Case Manager. Maintain communication with these identified collaborative partners.Maintain timely completion of required documentation, assessments, and outcomes.Demonstrate cultural competence, as well as integrate understanding of these values into daily work with families and peers.QualificationsQualifications:Master s Degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or related field is required (Licensure is preferred, but not required.
