Job Description:
Our Fiber Lab is searching for an entry level Fiber Optic Cable Assembler to join our growing team. All fiber cable assembly technicians are trained on site in basic fiber optic theory, termination and cable processing tasks and procedures. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF A Fiber Optic Cable Assembler:
  • Creating high quality products in a timely manner.
  • Assemblers are required to take ownership of their work and provide mechanical inspection and basic continuity testing before submitting work for final test and approval.
  • Employees are required to demonstrate knowledge and experience in detailed oriented jobs; and accuracy with numbers and part numbers.
  • Communicate effectively with team leader to continuously establish and improve quality on the assembly line.
  • Polished work should be complete and free of any microscopic contamination, residual glue, process slurry, and diamond particles from lapping films.
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE OF A Fiber Optic Cable Assembler:
  • Ability to read and understand internal procedures and policies
  • Ability to understand and follow through on both verbal and written instructions.
  • Team oriented with a continuous improvement outlook.
  • Able to communicate courteously and professionally at all organizational levels
  • Mechanically proficient
  • Possess solid math, time management, and computer skills
  • Work in an environment that is a casual clean room
  • Regularly required to work near moving mechanical parts on cable reeler
  • Able to move and/or lift up to 75 lbs - instruction required on safe lifting practices
  • Frequently required to walk, sit, use hands and hand tools
  • Employees are expected to use provided hand tools, fiber processing equipment and detailed assembly procedures / instructions
  • State of the art manufacturing equipment
