Overview
SDI Bio Carbon Solutions is seeking innovative Fiber Procurement and Logistics Candidates! This position will be a member of the CORE TEAM responsible for implementing the fiber supply strategy for the facility as well as creating a plan and coordinating the delivery of finished products to our steel mills! This facility will be a GREENFIELD start up facility using innovative and proven technology together with our JV partner Aymium, to convert woody biomass into a direct carbon replacement in our steel-making operations. The facility will be in Columbus, MS. The Fiber Procurement and Logistics Specialist will be primarily responsible for all aspects of procuring and receiving the raw material input needs of the facility, building long-term partnerships with suppliers, negotiating terms and contracts, as well as shipping of the finished products to our customers. Responsibilities
* Building and maintaining relationships/partnerships with area fiber, transportation, and logistics suppliers.
* Field visits to correct/educate loggers on mill's needs and specifications for fiber.
* Knowledge of timber certification and tracking requirements.
* Negotiating Supply and Service Agreements.
* Managing Inventories of Feedstock and Finished Products.
* Logistics of Shipping Finished Product.
* Project Management.
* Willingness to work additional hours and take on new responsibilities as required.
Qualifications
Required:
* Self-motivated with the ability to work well with others.
* Effective communication with widely varying audiences.
* Analytical Skills.
* Proficient in Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
* Ability to work independently and as a team member across multiple disciplines with excellent interpersonal skills.
* Self-starter with a desire to learn and grow.
Preferred:
* Previous Procurement, Forestry, Logistics, or Transportation Experience.
* Degree in Forestry, Logistics, Supply Chain Logistics, or related field.
* Knowledge of Rail and Truck transportation and logistics.
