Job DescriptionJob Overview: Bowlin Group is seeking a skilled Fiber Splicer to join our dynamic team in Flemingsburg, KY. This position focuses on splicing fiber optic cables, testing, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal network performance. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform fiber optic splicing as well as inspection and testing of fiber in the field.
- Read, interpret, and update splicing schematics and diagrams.
- Maintain accurate splicing and field operation records.
- Troubleshoot and perform maintenance to resolve signal issues.
- Operate technical equipment, including optical spectrum analyzers, fusion splicers, and OTDR.
- Adhere to strict safety standards and procedures.
- Additional duties as necessary to support the team and projects.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in various outdoor environments and weather conditions.
- Capable of physical maneuvers including lifting, climbing, and bending.
QualificationsMinimum Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Fiber Splicer with knowledge of industry standards and technology.
- Strong technical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- High school diploma or equivalent; further technical training preferred.
- This position is subject to drug testing.
