We have experienced rapid growth, which has enabled us to expand our construction and operating capabilities, transforminginto a full-turnkey telecommunications contractor.Job Summary:The Fiber Splicing Manager oversees the intricate tasks involved in installing and maintaining fiber optics, which includes performance and fusion splicing as well as testing. They are responsible for ensuring the quality of buried and aerial optic facilities by supervising the final outcome of contractor and/or in-house work, and carrying out activation-related duties.Essential Responsibilities:Provides quality construction management surrounding the Company valuesConducts regular field inspections of buried and aerial fiber splicing layout to ensure work quality control and adherence to technical specificationsAssists in the development of splicing plans and estimates future use of the fiber plantDocuments the work process by submitting daily reports of completed workMaintains continuing construction and layout guides to ensure work quality controlEnsures the timely completion of work and the adherence to quality guidelineRLM Underground will provide:Company vehicle/ truckFuel credit cardMonthly phone stipendCompany travel per diemiPad/tablet computerWe also offer employee benefits plans including: BCBS medical, Principal dental, vision, life, and AD&D insurance with a maximum waiting period of 30 days (usually less). Additionally, we provide a 401K plan with company matching after 60 days of employment, as well as paid paternity and maternity leave after 12 continuous months of employment.Salary Range: $75K - $85KRequirementsQualificationsSome travel requiredExperience in underground and aerial fiber optic splicingTechnical training in an industry-related trade certification or education program is preferredExcellent manual dexterityWorking knowledge of health, safety and environmental protection practices and procedures as they apply to related construction processesProficient in the use of hand tools and equipment utilized in splicing fiberAbility to operate company vehicles and properly tow/back-up trailersSolid understanding of current construction practices and familiarity with construction documentsProven ability to guide safe work practices in a high-pressure environment while maintaining project quality, schedule, and budgetAbility to communicate clearly and collaborate with multiple project stakeholders, interpret stakeholders' needs, and identify solutionsMust be capable of handling logistics and crew assignmentsExperience operating and performing work in a bucket truck, man-lift, etc.Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including the ability to lift 50 lbs. on a regular basisAbility to work outdoors in all weather conditions (hot, cold, rain, snow, and sleet) and perform work on uneven surfacesAbility to work with little supervision while following safety policies and procedures, wearing required personal protective equipment, and adding to a safe and positive team environment is a mustPrior supervision or management experience is a bonusRLM Underground is an equal opportunity employer.
