Our Western, KS office is based out of Fowler, KS.Opportunity:We are seeking a Splicing Technician to support business operations in surrounding communities. If you are hard-working and have a passion for problem solving and delivering a high level of customer service, this opportunity may be for you.Key Responsibilities:Splicing fiber optic cables in mostly outdoor elementsDeliver both fiber and wireless solutions to customersKnowledge of and maintaining splicing schematics and spreadsheetsTake accurate splicing and field notes to help support project timelinesProvide an exceptional experience to customers by being friendly, patient, and efficientTroubleshoot customer connection issuesInstalling drops from the service terminal and deliver fiber to the businessBuild plant construction and decommissioning of old plantAbility to handle installations and repairs independentlySupport customers with service issuesInstall and repair VOIP services for Residential and Business CustomersDesired Attributes:High aptitude for learning and growing skills and knowledgeSelf-motivated; must be able to work independently with minimal direction (at completion of training period)High attention to detailHigh sense of urgency and follow throughExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAdaptable to changing prioritiesRequirements:High School diploma or equivalent2+ years of work experienceMust possess and maintain a Valid Driver's LicenseAbility to work an on-call rotation, including nights, weekends, and holidaysAbility to work both underground and in aerial environments (i.e., climbing ladders and/or bucket truck)Ability to work outdoors in various conditionsAbility to differentiate colorsPreferences:Prior experience in telecommunicationsIdeaTek offers a culture where employee strengths are highlighted and recognized, including competitive pay, benefits packages, coaching services, tuition reimbursement, and community engagement opportunities.This role is not eligible for Visa sponsorship or relocation.
