Field Director - Facilities Operations

The Field Director reports to the Senior Director / Director of Facilities Operations. The successful candidate will direct and oversees preventive, reactive and emergency maintenance teams and personnel in the field for one or multiple campuses. The Field Director directs engineering staff and related resources to maintain a safe and reliable hospital physical plant, grounds and equipment. Plans, directs, and supervises the functions and activities of facilities managers and staff. Works with the Senior Director / Director - Facilities Operations to manage and resolve personnel, staffing and resource issues. Serves as the key interface between site administrative and facilities operations staff regarding plant and MEP equipment issues. Directs all related activities and resources for preventive maintenance, reactive maintenance, inventory control, project commissioning. Implements and oversees site preventive maintenance schedules and prioritize repair and maintenance work to minimize disruption of hospital operations. Maintains adequate supply of materials and equipment. Participates in the selection of vendors and prepares purchase requisitions. Reviews completed job orders. Ensures all work is captured on the CMMS system in a timely manner. Attends and participates in weekly scheduling meetings with the Planner/Schedulers. Ensures staff compliance with department training programs. Responsible for the recruitment, selection and orientation of employees in assigned areas. Prepares departmental status reports on work and project activities for senior departmental management. Participates in the preparation and tracking of the operating budget, monthly variance reports, BID proposals, procurement process, etc. On a periodic basis participate and represent Facilities Operations on surveys by Joint Commission, CMS, Safety Rounds, etc. Ensures that all enterprise-wide processes and systems for facilities operations are adhered to at the managerial, supervisory and staff level. 24/7 on call responsibility for the site's physical plant.

This is a full time position with oversite of NewYork-Presbyterian / Weill Cornell Medical Center and NewYork-Presbyterian / Lower Manhattan Hospital.

Required Criteria

* Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience

* At least seven years of supervisory facilities engineering experience, preferably at a large hospital

* Proven management skills in diverse labor force

* Microsoft Office skills

* Knowledge of MEP systems, CMMS systems

* Management/Supervisory skills

Preferred Criteria

* NYC Steam/Refrigeration license

$167,500-$249,500/Annual
