Here's how an Field Engineer contributes to our team:
Responsibilities
* Mentors and leads inspections and orientations, identifies hazards and corrections, and leads by example for health and safety practices and procedures.
* Coordinates with superintendent on workforce planning.
* Maintains project document control and procedures. Supports project engineers and/or superintendents to lead trade contractors, including requests for information (RFIs), shop drawings, changes, and billings.
* Participates in the supervision of self-perform scopes, including resolving crew sizes, labor tracking, and quantity tracking for Labor Cost Reports (LCRs).
* Mentors and coaches field engineers and students/interns).
* Identifies issues on-site or in defined work scopes.
* Coordinates third-party inspections and site reviews.
* Participates in crafting, implementing, and supervising quality plan, Inspection and Test Plan (ITP).
* Develop and maintains positive relationships focusing on all partners.
Qualifications
* Associates or bachelor's degree in a related field: construction management, engineering, architecture preferred, or equivalent experience.
* 0 to 8-12 months of varied experience as field engineer/coordinator preferred; time acquired during internships in the field may count as experience.
* Knowledge of construction specifications, and methods and procedures (e.g., formwork methodologies, self-perform work, subcontracted work scopes, temporary work, equipment, and scheduling techniques).
* Understands and applies construction principles to problem solve.
* Effective verbal and written communication with supervisors and subcontractors, and reports.
* Proven track record to work in a fast-paced environment.
* Writes clear technical communication to trade contractors, designers and inspectors.
* Develops and maintains effective partner relationships.
* Proficient Microsoft Office Suite and construction related software.
