ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe Field Engineer is responsible for application and quality control maintenance of survey and engineering principles in the field, including project mobilization/demobilization, as related to survey operations and data collection and production reporting. The field engineer is also responsible for supporting the dredge in the field as needed.This position will be under the direct supervision of the Project Engineer and will advise direction from the Project Manager and/or Vice President of Operations related to project operations.* Hydrographic data collection* Topographic data collection* Survey data organization and processing* Project planning and setup* Internal production monitoring, analyzing, and reporting* Project paperwork transmittal and organization* Care, maintenance and troubleshooting of assigned equipment* Calculation of air emissions, water quality, turbidity monitoring and oxygen levels* Dredge support as needed such as retrieving parts/supplies* Performs other related duties as assigned* Participates in Safety and Environmental initiatives that will contribute to compliance of State/Federal regulations and improve existing Company programs.QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTSThe employee must have:* Open water experience* Ability to drive company vehicle with equipment in tow* Ability to operate, launch and retrieve small survey vessel* Good record-keeping skills* Ability to abide by and enforce company policies and procedures* Ability to comply with safety rules and regulations.* Ability to work effectively and efficiently* Ability to work away from home at remote project locations for extended durations.* Must be reliable and motivated.* Ability to obtain TWIC.* Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors.* Competencies: stress management/composure, teamwork, results driven.PREFERRED SKILLSPHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTSThe employee must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable workplace accommodation.The individual must also be able to wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to work or visit within areas where it is required.
