Elford, Inc. has an opening for a Field Engineer in the Field Operations department. The Field Engineer is responsible for assisting in the planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects. This role requires hands-on field work, technical expertise, and excellent communication skills to collaborate with project managers, subcontractors, and field personnel to achieve project goals safely and efficiently. The Field Engineer plays a critical role in maintaining quality control, managing resources, and ensuring projects stay on schedule.
The key responsibilities of the position are:
- Assist the Project Manager and Site Superintendent in daily project coordination and planning.
- Provide technical support to field operations, helping resolve design or construction issues.
- Review construction drawings and specifications to ensure adherence to project plans.
- Conduct field surveys and collect data to support project designs.
- Implement quality control and safety standards throughout construction phases.
- Monitor work on-site to ensure compliance with project standards, building codes, and specifications.
- Inspect and test materials, equipment, and work to verify adherence to project requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in construction or field engineering, preferably in a similar role.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, specifications, and other construction documents.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols and best practices in the construction industry.
- Knowledge of project scheduling and management software is a plus (e.g., MS Project, Procore, AutoCAD).
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work on-site, with occasional extended hours or weekend shifts, as needed.
