Job Description:

Ashlar Structural LLC is an Infrastructure Rehabilitations firm which focuses on the installation of Structural Shotcrete and Performance based mortars for the use in rehabilitations of sewer and water underground structures for the Western US. Ashlar brings a team with a combined experience over 80 years in heavy Civil and underground construction market to the growing market. We are based in Boise, Idaho though our regions of work in include California, Washington, Arizona and continue to expand to areas throughout the West.

Field Engineer

Position is required to assist Project Managers, Estimators, and other in all aspects of the construction process from conceptual estimates, to the bidding of projects and ultimately, to the completion and acceptance of projects. This position could lead to career growth in either Estimating, Superintendent, or Project Management roles.

Responsibilities

  • Document daily and weekly progress reports at a variety of job sites. To include Time sheets and Measurements
  • Keep management regularly updated on project status
  • Compile and build Project Submittals, Plans, Specifications and Shop Drawings and assure conformance to the Project Documentation requirement
  • Work with Purchasing Department to coordinate negotiations for materials and subcontract pricing
  • Buids and maintains excellent client and subcontractor relationships
  • Maintain close contact/coordination with Suppliers, Subcontractors and General Contractors
  • Represents company in an excellent manner with existing customers and potential customers
  • Visit job site daily, documenting observations/activities such as: pick-up plans/specifications drawings, conduct job walks and deliver bids
  • Completes accurate and thorough quality takeoffs
  • Problem solving – ability to recognize problems and generate workable alternative solutions for approval and follow through to timely final resolution of problems
  • Construction Technology- Understands current construction techniques and systems to a high degree, including sustainable construction
  • Subcontracts- Draft subcontracts or review drafts of subcontractors and remain knowledgeable of all subcontracts and change orders throughout project
  • Manage change order process

Skill/Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field.

Heavy Civil construction and field experience.

AutoCAD skills

Experience in scheduling, procurement, material take offs, inventories, and cost estimates.

Travel

This position requires frequent and regular travel as needed to current project. The individual in this position must be willing to travel and drive distances to get to a variety of sites. Some travel and assignments will require flying and overnight stays. This will be compensated for by Ashlar Structural LLC.
