Job Description:
Primary Responsibilities: The foreman will report directly to the superintendent and/or project manager and will be an integral member of the team. The responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the following:
  • Ability to travel and work at various job sites throughout the United States for various durations approximately 90% of the year.
  • Project pre-planning.
  • Understanding and communicating project goals and timelines.
  • Proficiency in understanding construction plans and specifications.
  • Assisting in scheduling and organization of men, tools and equipment, ensuring all team members are prepared for their work shifts (on time, proper attire, etc.).
  • Assisting in coordination of traffic control (MOT) schedules with Superintendent.
  • Defining and leading team productivity to meet or exceed scheduling goals.
  • Oversee all field operations for designated crew.
  • Understands company and industry safety rules and regulations to ensure onsite safety.
  • Coach and train field staff under Foreman's supervision assigning specific, manageable tasks (e.g. Operating the Hydraplatform, Using Hilti Epoxy, etc.).
  • Ensure and inspect quality of work.
  • Completion of appropriate daily paperwork (hard copies and/or electronic copies).
  • Performs other duties as required.
Job Requirements:
  • High School and completion of Vocational School a plus, College degree preferred.
  • 3+ years related experience or equivalent role (Utility or Outside Plant experience a plus).
  • Class A CDL preferred.
  • Valid and current driver license is mandatory.
  • Background Check performed prior to employment
  • Motor Vehicle Record checked biannually.
  • Must be capable of working with intermediate level computer skills using Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word
  • Team player with field staff, project management and internal company management.
  • Comfortable working from heights and over water.
  • Ability to remain calm, focused and effective in pressure situations.
  • Self-starter with ability to set goals and tasks with strong leadership skills.
  • Aptus Group USA is a Drug Free Workplace. Candidates will be required to pass pre-employment and randomized DOT regulated drug tests.
  • Develop skilled laborers under Foreman supervision
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Acquire a fluent understanding of Aptus' products and services.
  • Maintain professionalism and accuracy in all communications, both spoken and written
  • Actively solicit assistance from staff as needed.
  • Handle customer and staff issues with tact and respect.
  • Be consistently reliable, dependable and on-time.
  • Acquire and/or maintain a Class A CDL, OSHA 30, and other Certification as determined by the Company.
Physical Requirements:
  • Daily lifting of items over 50 lbs., with or without the use of mechanical aids.
  • Ability to spend all day outdoors exposed to weather and stand for long periods of time.
  • Full use of hands and fingers as there is use of precision or semi-precision tools.
  • Daily basic physical exertion, such as bending and twisting, lifting, climbing, pulling, pushing, or carrying.

  • Meet fitness standards for DOT CDL physical / medical card
  • Resume with past experience and at least three references
  • Ability to travel and be away from home full time (Avg. 90%)
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen
