Field Foreman - Miscellaneous Steel near Elwood, IN We are seeking an experienced Field Foreman to oversee, direct, and troubleshoot daily operations on job sites. This is a hands-on, working foreman position that involves supervising 4-8 field employees across multiple job sites. The role requires ensuring adherence to safety protocols, scheduling work based on project needs and availability of personnel, and addressing routine issues that may arise. Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate daily tasks based on priorities and project plans, adjusting for weather, supply, and staffing challenges.
- Assign responsibilities and tasks to crew members and contractors.
- Manage and mentor employees and contractors to ensure project goals are met.
- Provide resources and staffing to meet project schedules, compliance with regulations, safety standards, and best practices.
- Ensure the safe use of tools, machinery, and equipment, and provide training on safety protocols, including the use of safety gear and helmets.
- Develop and enforce quality standards across all sites.
- Quickly and amicably resolve conflicts or miscommunications.
- Provide regular project status updates to supervisors, site engineers, and other key stakeholders.

General Description: Supervise and coordinate the activities of workers engaged in the installation and erection of structural and miscellaneous steel, including stairs, handrails, ladders, and embeds. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist management in planning and overseeing fieldwork production.
- Plan upcoming work and assign tasks to field personnel.
- Interpret blueprints and shop drawings to ensure project alignment.
- Inspect work in progress and ensure the quality of the finished product.
- Enforce safety regulations and company policies among workers.
- Adjust work schedules as needed to meet production targets.
- Recommend improvements in production methods, equipment, and product quality.
- Maintain accurate time and production records.
- Perform cutting, fitting, welding, and painting tasks as required after completing supervisory responsibilities.
- Coordinate schedules with internal and external stakeholders.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervise 4-8 non-supervisory employees, including training, assigning work, performance appraisals, and resolving any issues or complaints. Qualifications:
- At least 5 years of experience in structural and miscellaneous steel erection, including stairs, handrails, ladders, and embeds.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to effectively communicate via email.
- Welding certification preferred but not required with relevant experience.
Work Schedule:
- Monday-Thursday, 6:00 am - 4:30 pm
- Friday, 6:00 am - 2:30 pm
- Occasional Saturdays as needed
