As the Field HR Specialist, your role is to provide comprehensive HR support and expertise to multiple restaurant locations. You will work closely with the other members of the HR team, management teams and employees to ensure HR policies and practices are effectively implemented and align with business objectives.

Field HR Specialist Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrates and supports a culture of diversity, equity and inclusion
  • Generating official internal documents such as offer letters, appointment letters, conduct onboarding for home office and leadership and educating newly hired employees on HR policies, internal procedures and regulations
  • Take appropriate disciplinary action against employees who violate rules and regulations and address employee grievances.
  • Performs customer service functions by answering employee, manager, and applicant requests and questions, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Active in the restaurants in your region, attending pre games, and visible on site to support employees at non traditional hours and days.
  • Complete HR Skill outs quarterly.
  • Assign and schedule store specific HR training.
  • Track retention and recommended necessary improvements.
  • Assist in creating the monthly HR newsletter.
  • Partner with the compliance team on liability inspections, trainings and required yearly reporting
  • Creates policies, training documents to alleviate HR mistakes and/or concerns.
  • Facilitates the appropriate completion and timely submission of human resources documentation.
  • Coordinates twice a year all team member training.
  • Assists with processing of terminations.
  • Assists with the preparation of the performance review process.
  • Ensures evaluations are completed in the assigned time, review to ensure all evaluations are compliant with HR laws.
  • Conducts HR training in new and existing restaurants.
  • Follows HR guidelines while conducting employee complaint investigations.
  • Files documents into appropriate employee files.
  • Responds to all questions and concerns about COVID19 or other pandemic situations.
  • Responds to employee requests/questions within 24 hours.
  • Supervises onboarding procedures to ensure I-9s are completed in time.
  • Assists with execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, employee recognition events, bereavement gifts, among others.
  • Partner with the Training, and Recruiting department as needed on training materials or in person training.
  • Owns Team Member Gift card process for locations in the region.
  • Provide support and training to internal promotions.
  • Partner with training on key hire one on one support.
  • Complete Bi Weekly Regional Director Calls
  • Monthly Regional GM and KM Calls.
  • Own and execute all surveys, exit, stay and yearly.

Field HR Specialist Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1-2 years of HR Generalist experience with track record of continuous improvement and learning preferred
  • Ability to travel as necessary up to 85%.
  • Restaurant first mindset- this is not a 9-5 office position. You will be expected to work nights and weekends
  • Bi-lingual - Spanish preferred.
  • Prior restaurant experience required.
  • Experience with Paychex is a plus, but not required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management or related field
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS
  • Working understanding of human resource principles, practices and procedures.
  • Proficient in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with tact and discretion
  • Strong communication and time management abilities, with exceptional detail orientation and follow through
  • Comfortable speaking in front of groups of employees.
  • Thrives in a fast paced environment with little to no supervision.

  • Strong Interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
