Sterling Design Support Services (SDS2), a unit of iQuasar LLC for one of their clients is seeking a Field Inspector to join its collaborative multidisciplinary engineering firm providing services throughout South Florida.
- Position: Field Inspector
- Location: Miami, Florida
- Position Type: On-Site
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related discipline.
- In-depth knowledge of industry-specific regulations, codes, standards, and guidelines.
- Specialized technical knowledge related to materials, equipment, processes, or systems.
- Familiarity with data collection methods, tools, and the ability to analyze inspection data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Proficiency in safety protocols and practices.
- Fluent in English (required).
- Spanish proficiency (required).
- Experience: 2+ years of experience in field inspections.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular on-site inspections to assess the progress and quality of construction or engineering projects.
- Evaluate materials, workmanship, and construction techniques to ensure they comply with design specifications and industry standards.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with local, state, and federal building codes, zoning regulations, OSHA, and other relevant laws.
- Identify safety hazards and potential risks on construction sites and recommend corrective actions to maintain a safe working environment.
- Track the progress of construction or engineering projects to ensure they stay on schedule and within budget.
- Notify project managers of any delays or issues that may impact project timelines.
- Request materials and tools required on-site.
- Interact with CEI Director, clients and contractors to provide updates on project status, inspection findings, and any necessary modifications or changes to the project plan.
- Collaborate in any activity that helps promote the growth of the department and/or the company.
- Maintain detailed records of inspections, observations, and measurements (can include photographic records) in the server.
- Prepare comprehensive inspection reports outlining findings, non-compliance issues, and recommendations for corrective actions.
- Communicate inspection results to project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders.
- Keep records up to date in the server.
- Complete daily timesheet reports.
