Position Summary:The Field Mechanic is responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing a wide range of heavy construction equipment both in the shop and on job sites. This role requires independent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety. The Field Mechanic plays a vital role in ensuring the functionality and efficiency of equipment critical to project success.Responsibilities included but not limited to:
- Comply with (and actively promote) all Safety policies and procedures including reporting all accidents, incidents and near misses to ensure adherence to our Number One Core Value - Safety, first in everything we do.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical issues in large and small construction equipment, both on-road and off-road.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and enhance equipment reliability.
- Some minor welding.
- Provide on-site repairs as needed, ensuring minimal disruption to project schedules.
- Responsible for filling out daily work orders accurately.
- Responsible for turning in approved parts request forms.
- Responsible for keeping clean and safe work area and using proper PPE at all times.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working on construction equipment.
- Proven ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Possess a valid driver's license (CDL preferred).
- Must have personal tools suited for the job.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including adapting to changing priorities.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
