Nature of WorkThis position is responsible for ensuring compliance with permitted film and special event activity in the City of Miami Beach per contract and/or permit conditions, film and event guidelines, and City Code. The incumbent reports to the Assistant Director of Tourism and Culture and success in this position is determined by manager.Illustrative Examples of Essential Duties* Conducts routine monitoring of film, photography, special event, weddings, teambuilding, pop-up, sampling, market and other activities within the City under the responsibilities of the Tourism and Culture Department.* Monitors market contracts and/or operations; determines conformity of activities to existing regulations, permit conditions, and established departmental policies; provides solutions and takes steps to bring violations of contracted or permitted uses into compliance,* Prepare and issue special event permits and vehicle access permits.* Prepares and maintains records and photographs corresponding to violations; forwards violations to or coordinates with other department in order to correct such issues, if correctable, or terminated such activity if not correctable.* Gathers and provides information on activities of films, photography, and special event productions to assist with improving permitting and monitoring of production.* Assist with CADÂ illustrated needs of department, including accurate measurements of site plans.* Testifies in court and before City boards and committees.* Performs other related duties as assignedMinimum Requirements* Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Public or Business Administration or a course of study related to the occupational field.* Two (2) years of responsible administrative work experience relevant to the major duties/essential functions of the position.* Reports to work as directed during an emergency as an essential City of Miami Beach employee.* Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.* A valid driver's license appropriate to the vehicle assigned to the position.Physical Requirements:* Must have the use of sensory skills in order to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public through the use of the telephone and personal contact.* Physical capability to effectively use and operate various items of office related equipment, such as, but not limited to, word processor, calculator, copier, and fax machine.* No significant standing, walking, moving, climbing, carrying, bending, kneeling, crawling, reaching, handling, sitting, standing, pushing, and pulling.* Ability to operate an All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV)* The work is occasionally performed in an office environment but typically outdoors, frequently in very hot or cold or inclement weather.For all positions:* Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with elected officials, coworkers, the press the general public and members of diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds regardless of race, religion, age, sex, disability, political affiliation, gender identity or sexual orientation.* Ability to serve the public and fellow employees with honesty and integrity in full accord with the letter and spirit of all city ethics and conflicts of interest policies.
