We are searching for passionate people to join the Alterra mission as chemical field operators. We are looking for you to run our proprietary process at our Akron, OH site as which is the leading commercial provider of ISCC Plus pyrolysis oil for major petrochemical customers. The role will be non-exempt, full-time and physically located in Akron, OH.

  • The Field Operator provides constant monitoring, oversight, and troubleshooting of chemical process equipment in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.
  • Adjust manual valves and switches to regulate process variables (e.g., pressures, flow rates, temperatures, fluid levels) as necessary to maintain safety, product and process quality, as well as operating efficiency within design operating parameters.
  • Records and communicates data from equipment readings. Effectively communicate and elevate key reliability issues that may affect unit process capability or have adverse outcomes.
  • Read processing schedules, operate logs, test oil sample results and identify equipment controls changes to produce specified product quantity and quality.
  • Interact and enter data into the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) used for equipment data management.
  • Ability to recognize and identify potential hazards. Strong ability to identify changes in work environment with respect to impact on safety of self and others. Calls attention to potential unsafe conditions as they may arise. Demonstrates knowledge of lockout/tag out procedures.

Education and Experience

  • Minimum of Highschool Diploma or equivalent with associates degree preferred
  • General knowledge of manufacturing plant operations and maintenance
