This is a full-time, field-based position that requires reporting to the corporate office in Shelocta, PA, when not on-site. The Field Safety Advisor will be responsible for conducting pre-job safety meetings, assisting in the creation of proactive Job Safety Analyses (JSA), and ensuring compliance with OSHA and environmental regulations.Key Responsibilities:
- Safety Oversight: Support the safety manager in implementing and managing safety protocols and policies in the field, emphasizing a Safety First approach in all activities.
- Pre-Job Safety Meetings: Lead daily pre-job safety meetings, promoting hazard awareness and reinforcing safety as the top priority for all employees and contractors.
- Job Safety Analyses (JSA): Assist in developing and implementing proactive JSAs to prevent potential risks and maintain a safe work environment. Ensure that all JSAs are turned in daily to the client, along with equipment pre-trip inspections.
- Training & Compliance: Maintain the crew training matrix, ensuring all crew members are properly trained on JSAs and equipment pre-trips. Conduct regular training to ensure continued compliance with safety standards.
- Incident Documentation: Maintain detailed records of on-site incidents, near misses, and any hazards identified, focusing on continuous improvement of safety protocols.
- Site-Specific Safety Plan: Create and maintain a site-specific safety plan that aligns with both company and client guidelines, ensuring full adherence and enforcement of all safety protocols on-site.
- Incident Investigation: Investigate all workplace injuries, illnesses, or accidents, determining root causes and recommending corrective actions with a focus on preventing future occurrences.
- Site Inspections: Conduct on-site hazard assessments and inspections to identify and eliminate safety risks, ensuring compliance with the Safety First standard and OSHA regulations.
- OSHA and EPA Compliance: Implement and administer OSHA safety compliance programs, ensuring adherence to EPA regulations through proper training, documentation, and tracking.
- HSE Program Management: Standardize and improve Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) programs, including procedures, documentation, and training initiatives.
- Project Support: Oversee HSE-related projects such as site remediation and ongoing monitoring of safety performance, with safety as the top priority.
- Equipment Isolation: Simplify equipment-specific isolation procedures to maximize operator productivity while ensuring OSHA compliance and prioritizing safety.
- Fire Equipment Inspection: Inspect and maintain firefighting equipment in line with NFPA standards.
- HSE Advisory: Provide expert advice to supervisors and managers on safety and HSE matters, reinforcing a culture where safety is the first priority.
Requirements:
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; a degree in Safety or related field or equivalent work experience preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in safety management in pipeline construction or a similar industry.
- Certifications: OSHA 30 or 40-hour Construction Safety Certification required. First Aid/CPR certification is preferred.
- Physical Ability: Must be able to work in the field and perform duties in various weather conditions.
- Travel: Willingness to travel and work long hours, as needed.
- Pre-Employment Screening: Must pass pre-employment screenings.
