Job Description:

As a Field Sales Representative, your first and foremost priority is to acquire sales opportunities from new customers. You will play a crucial role in driving the company's revenue by engaging directly with customers, understanding their needs, and providing them with tailored solutions. Working with the Sales Manager, you will establish a new lead list and contact high-quality customers to educate them on our materials and services.

As a Field Sales Representative, you will spend a great deal of time working independently but will also take time each week to check in with the Sales Manager, update ownership, and collaborate on new strategies with the sales team. Your responsibilities are diverse, requiring a mix of sales expertise, customer service skills, and strategic planning to be successful in a competitive marketplace.

Excellent communication skills, ambition, drive, and energized collaboration are all necessary skills to excel in this role. This position will have a commission component linked to salary, making it imperative for leads to convert to orders.

Responsibilities:

  • Prospecting - Identifying and researching potential customers.
  • Lead Generation - Using various methods such as cold-calling, networking, visiting businesses and attending industry events to generate new sales leads.
  • Presentations and demonstrations - Delivering tailored information and demonstrations to potential new customers in order to persuade them to purchase our product.
  • Establishing and building relationships with established and new customers.
  • Market research and analysis - staying up to date on market trends and competitor activities. Gathering feedback from customers to improve sales strategies.
  • Reporting to management on sales activities, progress, and results.
  • CRM Management - Entering and updating all leads and customer data into the company CRM.
  • Planning - Organizing visits to potential new customers in your territory. Updating management with details about your schedule and results.
  • Customer Management - Handling a variety of accounts and ensuring they are communicated to and followed up on.
  • Customer Service - Addressing customer issues and complaints, providing support after the sale, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Thoroughly understanding our product and ongoing training to keep a competitive advantage.
  • Collaboration with all internal departments to align sales strategies and ensure a consistent, satisfactory customer experience.
  • Attend tradeshows, workshops, and seminars.
  • Completing expense reports and delivering them to the appropriate department.

Qualifications:

  • 4-year degree in business, marketing, or a related field.
  • At least five years of industry-related experience in a sales role, preferably field sales.
  • Proven track record in a previous sales role, this includes meeting or exceeding targets.
  • Experience in aluminum extrusion, automation, and/or medical devices preferred.
  • Strong negotiation skills to close deals and secure work orders.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey product information and persuade potential customers.
  • Ability to manage time and prioritize high-ROI leads.
  • Self-motivated, resilient, and adaptable.
  • Comfortable using various software devices, including mobile devices, sales software, and virtual meeting platforms.
  • Ability to analyze sales data and use it to make informed decisions on sales strategy decisions.
  • Ability and willingness to travel.
  • Valid driver's license and use of a reliable vehicle.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development through sales training programs and workshops.
