Location: Must be located in Texas, Arizona, or NevadaTravel: 75% (West Coast, Midwest, and occasional travel to Oilgear facilities)Position Overview:We are seeking a skilled Hydraulic/Electrical Equipment Service Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Rockwell software and PLCs, along with a strong background in hydraulics and industrial electrical systems. This role involves traveling to customer sites to diagnose and resolve equipment issues, operating diagnostic tools, and providing exceptional customer service.Individual will be responsible for delivering demand and scheduled Field Service, Warranty Service and System Start Up to existing and new Oilgear customers worldwide. Service work will involve analyzing component and system malfunctions, supporting customer efforts to repair or implementing repairs personally in order to get equipment functioning. Service activities will primarily be focused on Oilgear legacy and new, present design hydraulic equipment.This position involves regular engagement with Oilgear Hydraulic and Electrical Engineering groups in order to deliver needed customer support and to provide feedback from the field which will impact Quality and Design improvement.Position will be expected to promote the sale of Oilgear upgrades to existing Installations and to competitive Installations within customer base.Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Travel to customer sites to provide service for hydraulic and electrical equipment as requested and required.
  • Diagnose problems with customer's equipment, collaborating with relevant departments to facilitate timely and efficient solutions.
  • Operate computer-based diagnostic equipment designed for hydraulic and electronic systems.
  • Develop computer-based service reports and other documentation, completing, maintaining, and processing pertinent paperwork promptly.
  • Communicate with customers to ensure they understand how to properly use the Company's products.
  • Participate in or teach customer training sessions to support the customer educational process.
  • Stay informed about new technology, developments, and procedures within the hydraulics industry.
  • Review customer installations for opportunities to upgrade and improve existing equipment.
  • Provide feedback to engineers regarding technical problems encountered by customers to enhance overall quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Perform shop work as needed.
Qualifications:Minimum:
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Associate degree in a related field.
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
  • Satisfactory background and drug screening required.
  • Extensive experience with Rockwell software including RSLogix500, RSLogix5, RSLogix5000, Studio 5000, FactoryTalk ME, and SE.
  • Experience with Rockwell PLCs including SLC500 and PLC5 and the ability to convert to current Rockwell technology.
  • 10+ years of experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC).
  • 10+ years of experience with hydraulics.
  • Experience troubleshooting hydraulic circuits.
  • Experience with variable pumps.
  • Experience troubleshooting presses (a plus).
  • Ability to read and understand industrial wiring drawings.
  • Understanding of industrial electrical componentry and experience troubleshooting industrial electrical control systems.
  • Experience using diagnostic measurement tools for hydraulic and electrical systems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be located in Texas, Arizona, or Nevada.
Working Environment and Physical Demands:
  • Work performed in both non-air-conditioned and air-conditioned shop environments.
  • Some work conducted outdoors in harsh conditions.
  • Some work performed in an office environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Exposure to noise, dust, odors, and fumes in the shop environment.
