All Jobs > FIELD SERVICE ENGINEER - Great Lakes RegionFIELD SERVICE ENGINEER - Great Lakes RegionMIFull-timeDescriptionThe Field Service Engineer, ideally residing around the Great Lakes region (Northern NY, Michigan area), will be able to travel easily into Canada. The role requires travel throughout the assigned region, which includes Canada, providing installation, technical, and repair services for Gravotech products. Services are provided on-site at customer locations or by telephone consultation. This is a remote/work from home position and can be located anywhere within the assigned service region.Duties and Responsibilities:Reporting to the Service Manager, who is remote and based in Ohio, the Field Service Engineer will receive general guidance from management but is expected to work independently, be self-directed, and exercise sound judgment in achieving assigned objectives. Provides services to customers within the assigned region including but not limited to:Making service calls to customer locations to resolve equipment issues and repairs.Technical troubleshooting, analysis, and repair of equipment; to include computer software troubleshooting to diagnose conflicts and operation malfunctions.Maintains positive customer relationships by addressing issues in a thorough and timely manner.Conducts regular preventive maintenance on equipment and regularly updates customers on new technologies and products.Works on-site at customer locations for installation of new equipment.Assures new installations are correctly set up and working properly.Provides training to customers on proper operation of equipment.Reads and interprets technical documentation to fully understand operation and repair procedures for equipment.Communicates regularly, in person or by telephone, with customers, clients, and managers to respond to questions on operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and safety rules.Maintains clear and accurate maintenance and repair reports.RequirementsHigh School diploma or equivalent plus two years of technical training. Associate's degree or certificate in technical discipline preferred.Five years of experience in troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of electro-mechanical equipment.Ability to meet travel requirements including travel by car and air travel outside the assigned territory.Clear driving record with ability to drive a vehicle in various weather conditions to customer/potential customer locations throughout a multi-state territory.Sound judgment and critical thinking skills with strong technical aptitude for electro-mechanical systems.Ability to read, interpret, and analyze documents and technical procedures.Good communication skills with ability to write information, routine reports, and correspondence.Customer service oriented with ability to speak and present information effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.Intermediate computer skills with general knowledge of software packages, word processing, spreadsheet, etc.Dual Citizenship (US & Canadian) strongly preferred.#J-18808-Ljbffr
