Job DescriptionSemiconductor - Field Service Engineering Technician - PVDField service engineers design, install, or repair equipment related to different sectors of the technology world. They perform repair installation duties at a client's home or in a place of business.Hillsboro OR RegionOverview:Our client is a leading provider of consumer, business-to-business, andindustrial digital imaging solutions to the United States, LatinAmerica, and the Caribbean markets.They are currently seeking a Field Service Engineering Technician fortheir Semiconductor business in San Jose, CA, to support theirsemiconductor equipment in the field. Candidates will perform technicalsupport of the high vacuum equipment for PVD and related robotics.This position reports directly into an assigned worksite 5 days a weekand candidates must reside close to the San Jose area.Responsibilities:- Monitor, inspect, setup, calibrate, and maintain semiconductorprocess equipment in the field to prevent equipment down time.- Troubleshoot hardware and software related issues and implementsolutions- Collect data for software related issues and discuss with globalheadquarters- Document all maintenance activity and provide field service reports- Install equipment control software and maintain record of softwarerevision history- Participate in the installation of equipment at customers' sites.- Monitor stock level of service parts and equipment to ensureadequate inventory is available for repair work.- Provide training and assistance to other technicians.QualificationsQualifications:- AS degree is required, Bachelor's degree in engineering ispreferred.- 2-3 years of experience with PVD or semiconductor vacuum equipment- Candidates without AS or BS may be considered with equivalentexperience in the same field- Multi chamber cluster systems and robotics experience is highlypreferred- Ability to understand electrical and mechanical drawings fortroubleshooting- Experience with PLC and other software applications is a plus- Ability to work independently following 3-6 months of on-the-jobtraining- Must have analytical skills for problem analysis and resolution- Decide on problem solving road map and follow methodical means toresolution- Decide and recommend spare and consumable parts for PM's and repairs- Ability to work flexible shifts- Requires ability to lift approx. 50 lbs.- Bilingual Communication skills helpful but not required.(Japanese/English)- Ability to sustain substantial amount of standing, walking, typing,grasping, talking, and hearing, as well as occasional kneeling,crouching, stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling and climbing stairsor ladder.- Ability to work in a time sensitive situation with quick resolution.This is a full-time position paid hourly, ranging from $33.37 - $49.98per hour.
