Job Description:
In this Road Warrior, Field Service Technician role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, operation, troubleshooting, repair, and client training of state-of-the-art packaging electro-mechanical equipment in an assigned territory. Your responsibilities will be to:- Troubleshoot basic mechanical, electronic and operational aspects of machines- Be responsible for excellent customer service and territory management as you will be working very independently once you are trained and up to speed- Have experience with wiring components together, troublshooting and tracing wiring diagrams, swapping out wires, boards, and so onSome training will be in Kansas City at corporate training facility 1 or 2 weeks at a time. The candidate will then spend time in the field shadowing a tech. Once your 12-week training program is complete you will work with an experienced tech until you go out on your own in your territory. The amount of time spent in training depends on you and how quickly you learn, but it could be up to 6 months. There is usually more yearly training back in KC. There is not as much overtime in the first year, because about half of the time you will be in training. They provide all the tools and whatever else you need to be successful during training.Your commitment to your customer base will increase your compensation by providing exemplary customer service to clients, visiting them not only for PMs or troubleshooting, but also courtesy visits to see how things are going. You will be part of a national service team that provides the highest quality, most responsive customer driven service and support, helping to advance the company's leadership position in the food, industrial, and medical packaging industries.This is a 90% travel position that pays you for windshield time from the time you leave your home, until you check in to the hotel. Your schedule needs to be flexible to accommodate internal and external customer schedules, and you must be willing to work outside normal business hours, including some weekends as required. There may be a schedule requirement that consists of five days scheduled and 2 days off or ten (10) consecutive scheduled days of work followed by four (4) scheduled days of rest and may commence on any day of the week, but any weekend work is paid double-time. You must be able to travel with little notice, as customer demands may require.You will communicate with a scheduler daily to give updates on current jobs status and receive additional job assignments. You will be getting a company vehicle that can be used for personal use and all the tools you need to do the job.Base salary, $75 - $90K, ten hours of overtime a week, double pay on weekends. Company vehicle, $56 per diem, and company credit card. Full benefits that are 85% paid by the company. Annual profit sharing, typically 5% of your total wages.Most Field Service techs make six figures by their second year. Job 57734
