JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Cabling: the field service low voltage technician is responsible for cable pulling, termination, labeling and testing.

Installation: the field service low voltage technician is responsible for installing low voltage electrical systems, such as network security systems, fire alarm systems, access control systems, CCTV systems, and data networks; and to follow specifications, blueprints, and safety procedures during the installation process.

Maintenance: the field service low voltage technician is responsible for performing regular maintenance tasks to ensure the optimal performance and longevity of low voltage systems, inspect equipment, identify any issues or potential problems, and carry out necessary repairs or replacements.

Troubleshooting: When a low voltage system malfunctions or encounters issues, field service technicians are responsible for troubleshooting and diagnosing the problem. They use various tools and techniques to identify the root cause and then repair or replace faulty components as needed.

Repairs: the field service low voltage technician is responsible for handling repairs of low voltage systems, including replacing damaged cables, connectors, switches, or other electrical components. They may also work with software interfaces and programming to resolve issues related to system functionality.

Customer Service: the field service low voltage technician often interacts directly with clients or end-users. They provide technical support, answer questions, and address concerns regarding low voltage systems. Excellent communication and customer service skills are essential for this aspect of the role.

Documentation: the field service technician is responsible for maintaining accurate records of their work, including service reports, installation diagrams, and maintenance logs. This documentation helps track the history of systems, aids in troubleshooting future problems, and ensures compliance with regulations and industry standards.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

· Some knowledge of low voltage electrical systems, including security systems, fire alarm systems, access control systems, and data networks.

· Proficiency in using various tools, equipment, and testing devices for installation, maintenance, and repairs.

· Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve issues efficiently.

· Excellent communication and customer service skills to interact with clients and end-users.

· Detail-oriented mindset for accurate documentation and reporting.

· Physical stamina and the ability to work in various environments and weather conditions.

· Relevant certifications or qualifications in low voltage systems or electrical work may be required or preferred.

· Travel to customer locations throughout Florida.

· Available to be on-call for emergency service rotation.

· Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.

· Assists with other technical support issues, as needed.

· Handles other matters and duties necessitated by operations in his/her area and/or assigned by Service Coordinator or Manager.

· Must be able to work independently, as well as within a team. Strong organizational and time management skills with an ability to establish priorities and proceed with objectives with little supervision.

· Valid Driver's License & clean driving record.
