Essential Duties:
* Troubleshoot and perform technical repairs and training at field sites for end users and dealers.
* Interact with dealers and customers to provide effective product support and problem resolution.
* Provides feedback on field service-related issues to the service, quality, technical information, and engineering departments.
* Work with Technical Trainers to identify training opportunities and training content for dealer technician development. Assist Technical Trainers as required.
* Troubleshoot and repair via phone and a wide variety of electrical, hydraulic and/or mechanical system discrepancies.
* Interact with the dealer network and customers, and with the organization (engineering, manufacturing, marketing, etc.), to provide effective product support and problem resolution.
* Provide technical evaluations of information to develop viable options to enhance the speed and quality of customer service and provide follow up to ensure resolution.
* Manages telephone answering for optimum customer responsiveness.
* Troubleshoot and repair via phone a wide variety of electrical, hydraulic and/or mechanical system discrepancies.
* Provide accurate documentation of all customer contacts.
* Daily utilization of case system
* Read and interpret a variety of schematics and drawings while interfacing within the organization, vendors, and dealer/customers.
* Assist in authorizing warranty claims, administering technical policy, and part returns.
* Travel up to 40-50% of the time primarily within the US and Canada. Infrequent travel abroad may be required.
Minimum Qualifications (Education and/or Experience):
* High school diploma or equivalent is required. College, technical or vocational school courses in hydraulics, pneumatics, airflows, electronics and vacuum systems preferred.
* 2-5 years related experience in Field Service Support working with electrical, mechanical, and hydraulics is preferred.
Qualifications (Other Skills and Abilities):
* Technical and mechanical ability to repair heavy equipment and trucks in the field is required.
* Physical ability to perform repairs is required.
* Excellent customer service and troubleshooting skills is required.
* Good written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to maintain composure in difficult situations.
* Ability to understand JD Edwards and other software programs.
* Organizational skills.
* Ability to use standard hand tools and some specialty tools.
* Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
* Ability to climb stairs and ladders.
