Field Service Technician wanted with experience in Cranes, Aerial Work Platforms, and Forklifts

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Field Service Technician with expertise in servicing, diagnosing, and repairing cranes (mobile and crawler), aerial work platforms, and forklifts. This role is integral to maintaining customer satisfaction and ensuring the reliability of our equipment in the field. The ideal candidate thrives in a hands-on environment, excels at problem-solving, and is comfortable traveling to customer sites to deliver top-tier technical support. 70-80% travel
Key Responsibilities:
- Equipment Maintenance and Repair: Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs on mobile and crawler cranes, aerial work platforms, and forklifts.
- Customer Support: Provide on-site technical support and service to customers, ensuring timely resolution of issues to minimize downtime.
- Preventative Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure equipment operates efficiently and safely.
- Technical Expertise: Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams to diagnose and repair equipment.
- Training and Documentation: Train operators on equipment functionality and safety protocols and maintain accurate service records.
- Parts Management: Identify required replacement parts and coordinate with the company's parts department to ensure timely delivery and installation.
- Safety Compliance: Follow all company and customer safety policies and procedures during service and repair activities.
- Travel: Travel to customer sites, sometimes on short notice, to provide field service support.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience as a field service technician specializing in cranes, aerial work platforms, and forklifts.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems used in heavy equipment.
- Skills: Proficiency in diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair of heavy machinery. Familiarity with advanced diagnostic tools and software is a plus.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., Crane Operator Certification, Forklift Certification) are preferred but not required.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with customers and internal teams.
- Travel: Willingness to travel extensively to customer locations, with occasional overnight stays.
- Education: Technical diploma or equivalent training in mechanics, hydraulics, or electrical systems.
