Job Description:
Lufkin is seeking an experienced Field Service Technician II for our Hobbs, NM location who will be a a critical player in maintaining the operational excellence of Oilfield Pumping Unit equipment. This dynamic role involves not only a suite of responsibilities related to equipment operation and maintenance but also requires a sharp eye for inspection and proactive identification of potential issues. The technician will support the Field Manager in all areas of operations and spearhead both preventative and corrective maintenance initiatives. Rigorous attention to detail is necessary to ensure thorough reporting and high-quality inspections under pressure. A helper with parallel capabilities will assist to uphold the highest standards of service delivery.Minimum Requirements* High School Diploma / GED from an accredited school or institution* Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays, as needed* Comfort in working at heights with proper fall protection* Carry various pieces of the pumping unit of substantial weight* Engage in continuous physical activities such as pushing, pulling, lifting, stretching, bending* Be in the field environment a minimum of 8 hours per day, primarily standing and sitting, as required* Lift objects weighing up to 40 lbs.* Be subjected to extreme heat and cold for extended periods of time* Valid state-required driver's license* Must have a clean driving recordResponsibilities* Assist with the operation, rig-up/down of equipment & tools in various locations, under the guidance of a lead or supervisor* Specialize in the installation, inspection, and repair of Oilfield Pumping Units, with a strong ability to detect issues at the time of inspection and report with precision* Handle equipment, machinery, or systems with exactness* Operate a diverse range of equipment, achieving proficiency as per the competency development program* Prepare for remote assignments in areas with limited medical access* Contribute to safety protocols, ensuring compliance with lockout tagout procedures and rigging standards* Uphold safety regulations, including DOT-FMCSA laws* Coordinate with equipment logistics, including crane and truck operations* Manage bucket truck aerial lifts* Provide support with product assembly and maintenance tasks* Lead inspection efforts and alignment checks for pumping units* Engage in additional projects as neededEssential Characteristics* A proactive approach, geared toward delivering results and executing tasks with urgency* Prior experience in pumping units, inspections, and the ability to work under pressure for quality assurance* Excellent communication skills, both oral and written* Strong interpersonal abilities* A commitment to upholding the highest standards of health and safety in the workplace* Proficient in determining the need for preventative or corrective maintenance of equipmentDisclaimerThe above information on this description has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees within this classification.
