Service Technician
Reports to: Director of Service
This position is available in Atlanta and Phoenix
Summary:
The Service Technician supports the preventative maintenance program and the commissioning and decommissioning of products. This role requires travel (50%), sometimes on short notice, to provide support during customer visits, trade shows, and emergencies. The technician will manage equipment set-up, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance, as well as work closely with the sales and engineering teams to ensure optimal performance and serviceability of all units.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide on-site and remote support for equipment commissioning, decommissioning, troubleshooting, and emergency repair.
- Conduct preventive maintenance, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, hydraulic, and medical gas systems.
- Write detailed service logs and reports for each job, including daily trip reports.
- Support the build, evaluation, and testing of new products, including prototype builds.
- Provide feedback through the Problem Corrective and Preventative Reporting (PCPR) system to enhance product design, robustness, and serviceability.
- Assist in developing a spare parts catalog and maintaining inventory requirements.
- Offer guidance and training to junior technicians.
Preferred Skills:
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, plumbing, pneumatics, electrical, hydraulics, and control systems.
- Experience in facilities maintenance or plant operations is highly desired.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong problem-solving skills.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10 years experience in electrical, mechanical, and/or plumbing systems; a Master License is a plus.
- 5+ years of experience in troubleshooting and repairing electrical, mechanical, and plumbing issues.
- Ability to manage sub-contractors, engineers, architects, and facility maintenance personnel.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with customers and colleagues.
- Willingness to travel, sometimes on short notice, and work in various environments.
- Ability to lift and manipulate up to 100 lbs and adhere to safety standards.
