Job Description:
Reporting to the East or West Coast Service Manager, you will provide quarterly, semi-annual and annual preventive maintenance on sites, involving mechanical and electrical preventive tasks such as re-greasing bearings, changing filters and hydraulic oil for free wheel clutches, replacing and adjusting carbon brushes, replacing electrical components such as relays and sensors when required. Furthermore, you will be expected to complete an annual preventive maintenance and a complete inspection of the control panels. They are looking for individuals experienced in electrical and mechanical maintenance, with emphasis on field service who have willingness to learn and travel when required (short notice). They also seek excellent written/verbal communication skills and excellent customer service skills. The individual must be familiar with a computer (laptop) and its basic operation/windows program operation, as well as have the ability to project a professional service attitude and willingness to work long hours when required. Some of your responsibilities include: - Being responsible for an on-site check list report, as well as a Field Service Report. - Supervising outside diesel service technicians during the annual maintenance. - Acquiring experience and training for commissioning of new equipment.- Extensive traveling and availability 24-7-365 on short notice with waiting time between calls. An area of sites will be assigned (West Coast for CA role and East Coast for VA role); however, travel in the US may be required to help other regions. In rare cases this may include Mexico, Canada and South America, or other foreign countries. - Strong communication skills; as you will be speaking with customers on site, with a professional attitude, presentation and rapport, providing the mental and physical attitude of first class service.- Performing troubleshooting tasks of the equipment for both electrical and mechanical components with the help of the Company Help Desk such as disconnecting, reconnecting and performing alignment of major components, such as generators, induction couplings and free wheel clutches when replacement is needed, additionally vibration measuring during most of the regular visits or when components are replaced. The Company equipment is highly complex and requires training in order to assume the maintenance and service tasks. You will do your initial training at their Corporate offices and then on the job in the state you are hired for. Once you prove you can do the job then they will schedule training in Holland.Hourly role $24 - $25/hr. in VA with overtime from day one. Plan on $65 - $70k for your first year! Corporate card for all travel expenses. Per diem $50 during travel. If you have to use your own vehicle you will receive mileage reimbursement.
