Job Description:
In this role you will report to the Service Manager for a region and you will be providing quarterly, semi-annual and annual preventive maintenance as well as troubleshooting and repair tasks, on customer sites with assistance from the company Help Desk.You will be disconnecting, reconnecting, and performing alignment of major components, such as generators, induction couplings and free wheel clutches when replacement is needed. Additionally you will be doing vibration measuring during most of the regular visits or when components are replaced.Your work will include both electrical and mechanical preventive maintenance tasks such as re-greasing bearings, changing filters and hydraulic oil for free wheel clutches, replacing and adjusting carbon brushes, replacing electrical components such as relays and sensors when required. Furthermore, you will be expected to complete an annual preventive maintenance and a complete inspection of the control panels. They are looking for individuals experienced in generator, power generation experience with electrical and mechanical maintenance skills, with emphasis on field service experience who have willingness to learn and do some overnight travel (25% or less) when required (short notice). They also seek excellent written/verbal communication skills and excellent customer service skills. The individual must be familiar with a computer (laptop) and its basic operation/windows program operation, as well as have the ability to project a professional service attitude and willingness to work long hours when required. Some of your responsibilities include:- Being responsible for an on-site check list report, as well as a Field Service Report- Supervising outside diesel service technicians during the annual maintenance - Acquiring experience and training for commissioning of new equipment- You must be open to do some overnight travel, about 25% of the time but at times on short notice. This tech is the only one assigned to Phoenix, so you will spend much of your time in that area, although at times travel in the US may be required to help other regions. In rare cases this may include Mexico, Canada and South America, or other foreign countries. They need someone with strong communication skills who can build a rapport with clients, someone who presents themselves well, with a professional attitude, providing the mental and physical attitude of first class service as you will be speaking with customers on site.The company equipment is complex and requires training in order to assume the maintenance and service tasks. Onboarding is 2 weeks long from start date and is usually conducted in Rosenberg, TX. You will get an initial Level 2 Training and then get a more advanced training after 90 days. This training could take place in other locations, so travel the first 6 months or more will be more than 25%.Then, after 18 months, there may be additional training in Holland for Level 3, dependent on the individual and his/her ability to learn and initiative to become a higher-level tech.$27 -$34/hour Depending on location + up to 20% overtime+$1740/quarter on call bonus.
