Job Description:
The FST (Field Service Technician) positions are responsible for supporting the implementation, installation and maintenance of highly technical communications systems at customer locations. The candidate will perform maintenance on these systems once they are installed and commissioned, driving in a company provided vehicle to client sites each day. They need someone who can provide technical support of specialized systems and product applications including advanced troubleshooting of software driven electronics; as well as provisioning of communication system infrastructure and performance optimization of RF and broadband architecture including, but not limited to, legacy analog, advanced digital P25 and data infrastructure. You will need to maintain, optimize, test and document complex communications systems and provide weekly reports of your activities and accomplishments. They need candidates who have very strong knowledge of wired communications systems, such as local area networks (LAN) and wide area networks (WAN), and you must be proficient in computer network installation, configuration and maintenance systems to include cabling, routers, switches, firewalls and bridges.You will also need to be capable of performing maintenance of server hardware/OS and software infrastructure and troubleshooting to resolve system/application related issues. Someone with good networking and RF experience would be a great fit for this role.You will also need to show you have strong self-management skills and the people skills to work closely with customers and the subcontractor (MSS) communities, as well as sales, engineering, project management, and customer service teams. You will also need to show that you are self-motivated and self-managed to perform the required duties without direct supervision. They need a problem solver who can solve customer problems quickly during stressful situations.FSTs are assigned to a geographic area or to a customer and will have very little overnight travel. They currently have positions in the following areas: Los Angeles, San Francisco Bay area, Albuquerque, Austin and Dallas TX. These are normally 8am ? 5pm, Monday-Friday day shift roles that at times work after hours as needed for customer requests. There is also an on-call rotation that varies depending on location.
