Job Description:
As a Field Service Technician, you are the face of this company. You will be responsible for the direct management of all aspects of total customer service and care with our clients. You will work independently to troubleshoot and repair a variety of high-speed cash-handling equipment; tracking and management of parts/tools; and staying abreast of changes in technical and functional elements of the company's equipment.Some computer knowledge is required, but this position is focused on electro-mechanical repair. The ideal candidate may possess some PC knowledge. However, this position is not intended for IT or help desk professionals. You must have excellent customer service and communication skills and a working knowledge of personal computers especially Microsoft Office, navigation across network sites and email communication.They need someone with logical trouble shooting skills and capability to isolate problems at PCB or component level and the ability to effectively work with electric schematics, logic diagrams, and mechanical drawings and an understanding of AC/DC power distribution and digital/analog circuitry.They need someone trained in the maintenance and repair of electro-mechanical machines. Some of the equipment you will be working on will be repairing high-speed paper handling machines such as check sorters, mail sorters, currency sorters, ATMs or copier machines, so any experience with them is preferred.They would like someone with 3-5 years of technical field service repair experience preferred, such as, aviation, medical equipment, vending machine repair, /or military repair experience.Do you:- Enjoy interacting with people and providing good customer service- Consider yourself mechanically inclined and a fast learner- Have great communication skills and can effectively convey information- Do you take the time to ensure that your work is done right- Do you enjoy working with minimal supervision- Are you confident in your ability to prioritize and make critical decisions- Are you driven and motivated to make a meaningful impact in your role- Are you conscientiousThe most important skill they are looking for are communication and people skills.They need someone who can communicate with their customers what services they will be providing.Candidates must live or be willing to relocate to within 40-minute (driving distance) of the location they are looking to fill. Regular schedule is usually Monday - Friday: 8am - 5pm or 9am - 6pm but can change depending on customer needs.This position is based out of the Salinas, CA area. Ideal locations you can live in would be: South San Jose, Morgan Hill, Santa Cruz, Watsonville, Gilroy, Hollister, Salinas, Monterrey (surrounding cities)You will be receiving a vehicle, so you need to have a clean driving record.Overnight travel is required approximately but only 1-3 nights a month and could be up to 20% of the time at most.You will spend 1 to 2 weeks in Watertown, WI for formal training, then possibly some field training and additional trips back to Watertown for training approximately 6-weeks (total) of the first year (not consecutive weeks).Must be available for on-call rotation: on-call rotation is once every 6-weeks for 7-day, on-call hours are until 11pm including weekends, on-call pay is $150 a week.$25 - $27 /hour + some overtime + $150 every 6 weeks for On Call. 10 days' vacation, 2 floating holidays and 9 paid holidays; company minivan, gas card, company phone.
