JOB SUMMARY:

The Field Service Technician will provide installation, removal, training or other service for a variety of Stoneridge automotive products at customer or other designated locations. The ideal candidate will have a background, or familiarity, in automotive or electrical systems. This position is based in Novi, Michigan.

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Travel for service-related installations and repairs and training

* Ensure work is performed to the highest standards and all deadlines set are met

* Disassemble & reassemble a wide variety of vehicles and equipment both interior and exterior

* Properly route wiring, mount devices, terminate connections

* Troubleshoot and diagnose both equipment and devices to provide a working solution

* Ensure high quality installations at all assigned locations

* Provide a high level of maintenance, troubleshooting and support for existing customers in an effective and efficient manner

* Document service and installation actions by ensuring all electronic forms are complete, accurate and provided in a timely manner.

* Collaborate with Engineering and other teams to share feedback related to the service work.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE:

* Associates Degree, trade school or vocational program completion, specialized training or military experience preferred.

* Must have hands-on experience with automotive products, including tear-down and assembly and troubleshooting to find root cause.

* Must have ability to effectively utilize electric/electronic test/measurement equipment.

* Must be able to read and comprehend technical information as presented in manuals or electronic media.

* Experience working on Commercial Vehicles, preferred

* Knowledge and skill in the use of the required installation tools; wire stripper, wire crimper, digital voltmeter, etc.

* Experience validating products to automotive standards, preferred

* Strong team orientation and ability to work well with others

* Highly resourceful with skills in problem-solving and critical thinking

* Ability to independently prioritize and complete projects by deadlines

* Excellent oral and written communication skills

* Ability to effectively and respectfully interact with individuals at all job levels.

* Strong attention to detail and ability to remain organized

* Ambitious, positive, self-motivated, Can Do-Want To attitude

* Detail oriented, punctual and dependable

OTHER ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

* Must be able to lift and push products weighing up to 50 lbs. Will walk, stand, bend and twist on frequent basis. Will stand for prolonged periods. May be exposed to noise from machines or vehicles.

* Must have and retain valid driver's license and good driving record.

* Must sustain acceptable attendance by arriving on-time and working all scheduled hours, including evenings and weekends when scheduled.

* Must have ability to travel between 50% and 75%, primarily within the Midwestern, Northeastern and Southern States of the U.S. Some travel to Canada may also be required.
