Position:
The position requires a seasoned Field Service Technician who can work with minimal supervision and who has extensive experience with electro/mechanical machinery. Must have the ability to maintain and enhance our field service department. Service technicians are responsible for installing, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment at our customers location. They also provide training & telephone support for customers and participate in trade shows. Successful candidates will receive field and factory training.
Essential functions
- Knowledge of commercial embroidery or digital garment printers is a plus
- Knowledge of electronics, circuitry/circuits, strong technical and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent customer focus with the ability to reliably respond to inquiries, communicate and interact with customers with a range of technical expertise.
- Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities to meet deadlines within a customer-focused work environment
Responsibilities:
- The Field Service Engineer will install and support equipment
- Familiarize and train customers for the essential operation of the equipment
- Perform remote support and diagnostic analysis to determine independently if on-site corrective maintenance is required
- Organize and prioritize schedule in accordance with customer requirements to determine needs for immediate attention, via on-site visits, and remote assistance
- Secure customer acceptance of installation and maintenance sign-off
- Perform installation of new systems, preventive, and corrective maintenance
- Communicate and work closely with Service and Support Center, Regional Service Management and Customer Care Specialists

Supervisory responsibilities None
Work environment Travel position: on-site customer locations varying from residential homes to small retail shops to large warehouses in all stages of completion, which may or may not be climate controlled usually during active production hours.
Physical demands
- Prolonged periods standing or sitting while servicing machines
- May require lifting (up to 50 lbs.), bending, and squatting
- Speak clearly so listeners can understand.
- Understand the speech of another person.
Position type and expected hours of workFull time, 40 hours, Mon-Fri, including travel to and from customers which may require some overtime when necessary or unavoidable.
Travel
- Access to reliable transportation
- Availability to travel and stay overnight when needed (up to 4 nights/week)
- Comfortable flying
- Ability/Comfortable traveling out of state when needed
Preferred education and experience
- Degree in Electronics/Engineering or related fields or equivalent experience
- Tech School
- Formal Employment Technician experience: (automobile mechanic, diesel mechanic, commercial machinery repair, HVAC tech)
- Some other form of hands-on technical experience

Additional eligibility qualifications
- Must have a valid drivers license the state of residence in good standing, pass a background check and drug screening.
- Must be 21+ and able to rent a car as needed
- Access to credit card to charge expenses
- Comfortable laying out expenses until reimbursed (up to 2 weeks later)
