The role of the Field Service Technician is to provide superior on site and remote customer support. She/he is responsible for understanding the customer's needs, gathering project documentation, identifying opportunities for improvement internally and for the customer, and ensuring customer's project documentation on our file network is updated if there are changes. The Field Service Technician should have an always ready to serve mentality, ability to simultaneously manage a variety of customer requests, and ensure full closure of open service actions. This is a full-time job typically requiring between 40-50 hours per week.Responsibilities:
- Provide on-site (in person) support to customers.
- Machine building tasks in Holland Location when not on the road.
- Help customers start up new machines and equipment.
- Provide remote customer support through electronic means such as phone or email.
- Quote spare parts and replacement parts to customers.
- Other duties as assigned.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- 5+ years of field service experience on industrial equipment.
- Mechanical and Electromechanical system trouble shooting experience is required.
- Experience using PC software including Microsoft office suite (Excel, Word, etc.)
- Machine building experience.
- Electrical panel building experience.
- Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
- Knowledge of AB PLC and HMI
- Knowledge of trouble shooting PLC Code (Ladder Logic) and be able to make minor modifications.
- Being able to run off systems and debug

Travel:This position will require travel both by ground and by air. We have many customers that span the globe. Most of them are in the Midwest/Great lakes region. However, travel to Mexico, Canada, Europe, and Asia will be required on occasion. Keep in mind that most trips are short, usually only 1-2 days at a time. The estimated travel for this position is 80%. The remaining time would be spent providing remote support and other tasks from our Holland location.Training:You will complete 60 days of product training as part of your orientation.
