Job Description:

Our client is an American-owned original patent holder and global leader in industrial manufacturing, used for environmentally friendly cleaning, surface preparation, and parts finishing. They are now expanding their business and are partnering with one of the biggest lithium-ion battery manufacturing companies in the world.

We are now looking for a dedicated and experienced Field Services Technician to join their expanding team in Iowa.

Job Profile for Field Services Technician

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Install, repair, and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance
  • Operate machinery and technical equipment
  • Locate a source of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation
  • Dismantle machinery and remove or replace defective parts
  • Determine changes in requirements of parts by inspecting and measuring various instruments
  • Maintain inventories of equipment parts and supplies by checking stock and placing orders
  • Effectively schedules workload, material, and parts needed to complete tasks in a timely manner and to the satisfaction of the customer
  • Train production workers on routine preventive maintenance
  • Provide mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests
  • Prepare maintenance reports by collecting, analysing, and summarising information and trends
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations

Candidate Profile for Field Services Technician

  • Must be fluent in English, both written and spoken
  • Associate degree in a related technical field or equivalent on-the-job training
  • 5+ years of experience in field service working with electro-mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment. Experience working with integrated equipment controls preferred
  • Customer service skills that demonstrate a commitment to customer satisfaction and garnering customer loyalty
  • Computer literate with experience in MS Office, web browsers, ERP and CRM systems, TeamViewer and Google docs
  • In-depth knowledge of system maintenance
  • Familiar with safety standards and regulations
  • Clean driving record and ability to travel 70-80% of the time, including an occasional international trip

Physical work requirements:

  • Sitting and standing for long periods throughout the day
  • Regularly reaching a range of floor level to overhead
  • Regularly bending, crouching, stooping, kneeling, crawling, and manoeuvring around and inside equipment
  • Regularly climbing ladders
  • Regularly lifting or moving – 10 lbs. frequently, 30 lbs. occasionally (approx. 1x/week), 70 lbs. (floor to waist) frequently (approx. 1x/month)
