Our client is a leading engineering machine manufacturer of centrifugal feeding systems, continuous motion assembly and placement systems, labelers, and filling/capping systems for aseptic or sterile environments.They can fill it all including beverages and food products, nutritional drinks, lotions and creams, detergent and cleansers, oil and grease, pharmaceutical and healthcare products. Their flexible systems allow for multiple bottles shapes and sizes including square and elliptical. They can incorporate net weight filling, gravity filling or flowmeter to provide the most accurate and dependable filling for their clients' products.The company is looking for a field service technician that is motivated to learn and try new things. This job involves installation, maintenance and customer support for their filling systems and other packaging machinery. The focus of your work will be on the machines they manufacture here in the US (custom filling, packaging and assembly systems). On occasion you may be asked to assist the service team on the import side of the business, but this technician will be expected to work more independently (after having received sufficient on-the-job training). While they have a substantial number of customers within driving distance of the Indianapolis office, you should be available to travel all over the US, with the possibility of some occasional international travel.You will be expected to spend some time in their Madison Heights manufacturing facility to learn the equipment. When you are not working out in the field, you will work in our Indianapolis office where you will support their engineers in the test lab as well as continue to develop their knowledge of their equipment. You will be in plant most days, with back up support from the rest of the service team who will assist remotely and in person. You will also participate with the rest of the service team in scheduled overhauls and preventative maintenance around the country as their work schedule allows. After that start up period, this will be a travel position (about 60% or more). When not out on scheduled service, you will work from home, and continue to have a presence on site for this customer.Your duties will include:- Installation and hands-on assembly work- Service and maintenance of equipment after installation- Routine maintenance work- Operation support. Trouble shooting- Communicating with customers- Communicating with sub-contractors- Test run and verification work to support operator training support- Calibration work support- Documentation, to include technical documents, work reports and recordsOJT will be provided to familiarize you with the job, and help you to work independently.Base salary,$65 - $70K, there is a 6 month performance and salary review, plus a 3K signing bonus.This job offers the excitement of hands-on involvement in the installation, maintenance, and support of cutting-edge filling systems and packaging machinery for a diverse range of products, with ample opportunities for learning, collaboration, and travel.
