Field Service Technician - Robotic Automation Syracuse, NY 13235

Responsible for maintenance of robotic automation equipment.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Perform preventative maintenance, and field service repair (Electrical & Mechanical) on equipment and robots.
+ Provide telephone support (programming and troubleshooting issues) to our customers.
+ Provide 24/7 support to our customers on a weekly on-call rotation.
+ Appropriately document all work performed (i.e Field Service Reports / Mechanical & Electrical print updates)
+ Service, assemble, plumb, wire, and install automation equipment as assigned.
+ Edit and load software changes (robot, PLC, HMI) as assigned.
+ Perform mechanical work including fabricating and painting.
+ Other duties assigned
SKILLS AND CHARACTERISTICS REQUIRED TO PERFORM THE JOB
+ Requires extensive (50%) travel(foreign and domestic) for field service work, preventative maintenance visits, equipment installation, troubleshooting and providing training.
+ Must attend off-site, company sponsored training.
+ Complete field service and expense reports immediately.
+ Must be a team player.
+ Attendance and punctuality is an essential job function.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
+ Two (2) year college technical degree in Automation Maintenance, Electrical Technology, or Mechanical Technology.
+ Two (2) years of work experience preferred in an Automation Maintenance or Electrical Technology field.
+ Ability to read electrical & pneumatic prints.
+ Experience troubleshooting AC and DC circuitry.
MENTAL AND VISUAL REQUIREMENTS
High mental and visual attention is required for planning difficult work methods and sequences to obtain size, shape or physical qualities of product. Extremely close visual attention is required (such as making delicate adjustments to control high-speed operations). Very precise muscular control and/or extremely close visual attention required for making delicate adjustments to control mechanical operations.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS
Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, sit, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, use fingers, grasp, feel, talk, and hear. Ability to exert 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
Employee is subject to adverse environmental conditions such as: noise, vibration, hazards (moving mechanical parts), fumes, odors, dust and oils.
MACHINES AND EQUIPMENT USED
Ability to use personal computer, installation equipment, phone, fax and copier. Office software and special software for programming. Hand tools, measurement instruments (such as indicators, calipers, micrometers, tape measure, scales, etc.)
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the wage range for this role is $35-36 an hour. The hourly rate range provided is a general guideline.
