JOB SUMMARY:
This position will require frequent travel to Ohio CAT locations and customer locations and work from an Ohio CAT service truck, in the natural elements. The Field Serviceman will troubleshoot, repair, overhaul, change components, and perform maintenance on natural gas engines used primarily in the gas compression industry. The emphasis of this position will be Caterpillar G3300, G3400, G3500, G3600, and GCM engines.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
+ A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
+ College or continuing education in a technical field is a plus.
+ Experience related to commercial engine service and repair is required.
+ Experience with electronic engine control and management systems is preferred.
+ Must be able to obtain DOT certification to operate company trucks.
+ An acceptable driving record by Ohio CAT standards (4 or fewer moving violation points).
COMPETENCIES:
+ Must have effective reading and writing skills.
+ Excellent interpersonal communication skills is required.
+ Must have mechanical and technical aptitude.
+ Computer literacy is required.
+ Must know Caterpillar or other OEM natural gas engines.
+ The ability to read and understand schematics, service manuals, and repair diagrams is required.
+ Must be organized, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work safely without direct supervision.
+ The ability to write accurate and descriptive service reports when jobs are completed is required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Lifting/Carrying 50 pounds and 50 pounds pulling. Standing/Sitting, climbing onto large engine platforms, up and down stairs. Able to work in and tolerate temperature extremes. Dexterity Normal. Repetitive Motions, Frequent movement requiring hands, wrists, and fingers. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in office settings and moderate to loud in other situations, with both constant and sudden loud noises possible.
