Job Description:

Operational Technical Services (OTS) is one of the fastest growing private water and wastewater utility staffing providers in the country. We provide certified water treatment, distribution, wastewater treatment, collections, engineering, laboratory, water quality, maintenance, and training professionals to municipalities, special districts, and private utilities throughout the country. OTS offers temporary, temp to hire, direct hire and emergency on-call opportunities including great benefits.

POSITION: Field Service Engineer

SCHEDULE: 8 am - 5 pm

SALARY: $38.36 - $43.27/hr

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Commissioning and startup of pilot and full-scale systems, and the operation, maintenance and modification of field and in-house pilot units.

• Works closely with the Process/Applications Engineering group during the design, engineering, construction, and startup of new or modified equipment to assure our installations meet the needs of our customers.

• Troubleshooting and inspecting existing equipment, conducting on-site training with operating, maintenance, and management personnel and evaluating existing process systems for increasing capacity and reliability.

• Commissioning pilot equipment and solving problems in a variety of contexts including mechanical, electrical, PLC programming, and customer management.

• Document process changes and produce timely and detailed service reports

• Key contributor to future product developments & designs with a furthering of ideas rapidly from conception to reality.

• Extensive travel is expected. It is anticipated that short-notice travel will occur from time to time. Candidate must be able to work flexible shifts and adapt to changing work schedules.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• A bachelor's degree in chemical, civil, sanitary, or mechanical engineering with water and wastewater process and chemistry strongly desired, OR

• 2-4 years of field services experience, commissioning water/wastewater treatment systems, and/or piloting experience and specifically recent experience with pressurized UF/MF, MBR, and/or RO.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English).

• Computer literacy (e.g, Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, HMI/PLC).

• Independent self-starters and open-minded individuals who can troubleshoot in the field creatively, logically, and calmly.

• Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work.

• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

• Strong organizational and planning skills in a fast-paced environment.

• A creative mind with an ability to suggest improvements.

MUST HAVES FOR ROLE:

  • Utility Pants: Employees must wear durable utility pants suitable for the work environment.
  • Safety Shoes: Steel-toed or other appropriate safety shoes are mandatory to protect against workplace hazards.
  • Candidates must consent to and pass a background check and drug screening as part of the hiring process.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
