Field Support Tech Des Moines, IA Full Time Skills Required:
- Someone with professional experience in an IT, computer or systems-related field.
- Hands-on experience with network monitoring, diagnostic, and analytics tools.
- Not required, but a plus would be a Cisco CCNA or Fortinet NSE 4 certification
- Solid understanding of DNS, Security, IP Routing, HTTP, VPN, Email Routing, and SPAM.
- Important to have great customer service skills as this role is client-facing
- Comfortable doing cable runs and plugging cables as directed by remote tech
- Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of a variety of hardware, software, and communication technologies.
Day-to-Day Overview:
- Setup and configure complex network environments
- Install various network devices & services (routers, switches, firewalls, SD-WAN, QOS, and VPN)
- Providing Level-2 support and troubleshooting network-related issues.
- Managing projects, maintaining documentation, and liaising with vendors.
- Meet face-to-face with clients to help assist with their issues
- Cable runs, and plugging in cables
- Possibly some evening working hours or weekend installs
Projects & Tasks:
- Implementation of firewall policies and routing configurations.
- Network device maintenance and system upgrades.
- Participation in project scoping and technical planning.
