The Technician works to support our Enclosure, Design, and Consulting (ED&C) team by conducting vital testing on buildings under construction, managing tools and equipment, and managing fleet vehicles maintenance logs. This individual must be able to adapt to change quickly, carry up to 60-lbs for loading/unloading/setup of equipment, travel overnight stays, and be comfortable working on construction sites and at various heights. The Technician aids in keeping utilization/performance targets and keeping projects on schedule. They are not intended to prescribe or restrict the assignments that management may make.
- Perform and/or assist standardized or prescribed building enclosure field testing in general accordance with recognized ASTM standards on new and existing buildings, including but not limited to, electronic field testing, adhesion testing, air barrier testing, water performance testing, and roof uplift testing. Lerch Bates will train accordingly.
- Safely load/unload fleet vehicle with tools & equipment
- Assist in and/or build and manage testing apparatus.
- Produce an initial draft of test plan, reports and additional work product, including digital photos, drawings, and technical data
- Proactively keep managers informed of project status and changes.
- Assists in conducting evaluation tests designed to provide the desired result under controlled conditions
- Provide field support to ED&C group.
- Manage time effectively using the department look-ahead planner.
- Explore opportunities to enhance service with our existing clients/projects.
- Ensure personal utilization consistently meets expectations.
What You'll Bring:
- A High School Diploma and some College, or Equivalent.
- Minimum 1 year of experience working on buildings or construction sites or in a similar industry.
- Strong technical and mathematical skills
- An ability to effectively communicate and build rapport with clients, co-workers, and sub-contractors.
- Must have a practical understanding of new construction of buildings.
- Proficient in Bluebeam and Microsoft Office Applications: Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook
- Critical thinking, innovative, detailed orientated, self-motivated with ideas and recommendations for increased productivity and efficiency
- Must be able to work both independently and collaboratively to anticipate and identify present and future bottlenecks and equipment needs
- Maintains and operates with a high level of professionalism and flexibility adapting in a changing, fast-paced environment working with internal and external clients/coworkers
- Professional verbal and written communication skills with all levels of the organization
- Good work ethic and willingness to meet the physical demands of the job (carrying heavy loads, working from heights in aerial work platforms, walking long distances, climbing stairs and ladders, use of power tools)
- OSHA 10 (preferred)
- Mobile Elevated Work Platform training (preferred)
- A team player mentality
- A valid driver's license
