This hourly role follows the Scotts/Hawthorne step pay progression scale and typically starts at $26.25 per hour and is paid weekly. Scotts/Hawthorne will consider various factors in determining the actual pay including your skills, qualifications, experience, and geographical location.

We are looking for a Filler Technician to join our team in Fort Madison, IA.

This position will work Tuesday - Friday, 10am-8:30pm.

The Filler Technician is responsible for safely and efficiently operating liquid filling machines to package liquid consumer products, accurately complete documentation as it pertains to efficiencies, speeds, quality and over fill, and responsible for coordinating line efficiency to meet or exceed safety, production, quality and housekeeping standards.

What you'll do in this role:

* Adhere to plant safety rules and programs as it pertains to self and all other associates, including performing audits, safety suggestions, and participation in safety rotation of jobs.

* Read and comprehend Formula Safety Checklist, policy and procedure manuals, and Operating and Maintenance Manuals provided by equipment vendors.

* Operate and monitor various types of rotary and inline filling equipment including volumetric, mass-flow and overflow bottle filling machines to adjust and control fill rates.

* Clean, lubricate, reassemble, install and adjust filler to meet daily and yearly maintenance requirements as well as frequent reconfiguration of filler in preparation for changing product runs.

* Perform minor repairs and preventive maintenance and utilize mechanical troubleshooting skills to ensure proper product and quality specifications are met.

* Perform various manufacturing inspection protocols to ensure plant quality standards on liquid packaging products, first pass yield, bottle weights, and standard deviations.

* Responsible to notify appropriate representative, follow proper procedures and / or shut down line for Quality or Safety issues.

* Effectively communicate and relay information to peers and supervisors concerning the performance of the production line as it pertains to the assembly, operation and performance of the line. Identify gaps in targeted rates and efficiencies.

What you'll need to be successful:

* High School Diploma / GED Required

* 1 year experience as a machine operator, production operator or equivalent position in a high

* speed manufacturing environment preferred.

* Ability to prioritize and perform multiple simultaneous tasks, with interruptions.

* Requires strong problem solving and decision making skills.

* Strong math skills, including knowledge of the metric system.

* Ability to effectively communicate verbally and written with co-workers.

* Ability to follow and communicate directions provided in verbal or non-verbal format.
