DescriptionSands College of Performing Arts is hiring Film Student Aides (FSA) to work directly with the professors of specific BFA Film, Television, Voice-Over, and Commercial (FTVC) courses, assisting them as needed with in-class tech support (light grip and gaffing), on-site editing, and sound recording during class instruction.FSA duties include, but are not limited to, setting up equipment prior to class, operating camera (iPhone 14 Pro, Canon EOS C100, Blackmagic 6k-BGM113A, RED Komodo 6k), minimal lighting and/or sound equipment during class, editing, and restoring equipment immediately following class. FSAs report directly to the Sands College of Performing Arts General Manager and Director of Production.Requirements
- FSAs must be able to climb a 10' ladder, carry at least 50 lbs, work on their feet for 4 hours, take direction from and work with faculty and staff of Sands College of Performing Arts
- Strong knowledge of cameras and general film equipment operations (lighting and sound), specifically iPhone 14 Pro, Canon EOS C100, Blackmagic Gk-GM113A, RED Komodo 6k
- Ability to handle confidential information in a discreet manner.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Reliable and patient with students and visitors.
- Ability to work independently.
- Strong customer service and organizational skills.
- Must have reliable laptop with up to date software
- Must be eligible for Federal Study Aid
- Must be available for the specific class time needs.
