DescriptionJob Summary & Core Responsibilities:Complete various duties including but not limited to: touching up paint, application of outlets, badge plates, hatch covers, AEI tags, decals, etc to railcars.
- Perform repairs to railcars as directed by AITX Supervision
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, and material handling equipment in performing duties
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas
- Follow directions of supervisor
- Understand and abide by the policies, procedures, and standards of American Industrial Transport (AITX)
RequirementsRequired Experience / Skills / Qualifications•Prior Railcar experience preferred•Must be able to read, speak, and understand English•Highly organized and able to prioritize and manage time efficiently with the ability to handle stress in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.•Ability to work under tight time constraints, handle sensitive data, and multi-task so that deadlines can be met.Required Education / Training / Certifications:•High school diploma or GED requiredWork Environment and Safety Equipment Required:•Wear the required safety equipment properly, for at least 8 hrs/day without duress•Manually lift up to 60 lbs (anything over 60 lbs requires 2 people to lift)•Stand and walk on concrete for a minimum of 8 hrs/day•Tolerate a hot, dusty environment for long periods of time, without the benefit of air conditioningPPE Requirements:•Hard Hat•Steel Toed Boots•Various Respirators•Hearing Protection•Various gloves•Safety Glasses
