Position SummaryThis professional Real Estate position in the Technical Service Section of DTSD Regional Offices performs a wide variety of real estate related tasks under close to limited supervision of the Real Estate Supervisor and/or the direction of a higher level Real Estate Specialist. This position is primarily responsible for carrying out appraisal and negotiation activities on assignments with a low to moderate level of complexity. Assigned duties provide the individual with broader experience while accomplishing program objectives. Other functional area that may be included in the assigned duties of Real Estate Specialists and Real Estate Specialist Seniors are Project Management, Relocation Assistance and Property Management. The ability to obtain a Notary Public Commission from the State of Wisconsin within six months of employment is required.
Salary InformationThe Real Estate Entry level position is in schedule-range (07-04) with an annual salary of $52,000 - $60,320, plus excellent benefits. The Real Estate Senior level position is in schedule-range (07-03) with an annual salary of $58,240 - $72,800, plus excellent benefits. A twelve month probationary period is required. Pay for current state employees will be set in accordance with the Wisconsin State Compensation Plan.
Job DetailsThese project/permanent positions have been authorized until May 2026. Project/permanent positions are eligible for all benefits (including paid time off) as well as civil service status. After successful completion of the 12 month probationary period (if applicable), employees in these positions will attain permanent status and will be eligible to transfer to other permanent positions similar to other permanent employees in state service. This allows employees to be considered for other similar positions when the project position approaches its expiration date. WisDOT does not sponsor work visas. Any appointment made will be contingent on the applicant being able to prove valid status to work in the United States. WisDOT is not an E-verify employer. Prior to any appointments for position(s) filled from this announcement, candidates may be subject to a comprehensive criminal background check which may include FBI fingerprinting. Certain positions within this Department may allow remote/work from home flexibility for a portion of their work schedule, depending on the needs of the position and the work unit. Qualifications A minimally qualified applicant at the entry level will have experience and/or training, as applicable, in all of the following: - Working in customer service including using problem solving skills to resolve customer issues.
- Handling multiple projects and/or tasks in a work environment.
- Record keeping (i.e. establishing and following filing procedures, tracking/logging data, etc.).
- Working with computer programs (i.e. databases, spreadsheets, word processing software, etc.).
A well qualified applicant at the entry level will also have: - Experience working in real estate (could include property management, appraisal, real estate sales, title work research, real estate education, eminent domain real estate, survey, utility real estate, ability to understand legal descriptions and plat maps, etc.).
A minimally qualified applicant at the senior level will have: - Experience with eminent domain
