Abilities First is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.The Finance Associate - Grants and Contracts will focus primarily on the maintenance of accounting records related to agency grants and contracts. Additional responsibilities will include support of the Finance Department in other areas as assigned or warranted and in accordance with GAAP.Schedule: Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week, day shift, with flexibility on start/end times.Pay: $24-$28 per hourResponsibilities include but not limited to the following activities:•Maintain all grants including contracts and reporting•Process School/Preschool Contracts•Prepare audit workpapers as assigned•Complete Bank Recs as assigned•Complete Loan schedules as assigned•Assist in preparation of annual agency budgets as needed.•Ensures all required trainings and certifications required are current, and seeks further support and training where needed.•Adhere to agency Code of Legal and Ethical Behavior, which require all employees, consultants, board members, volunteers and affiliates to perform their responsibilities according to ethical and legal standards with honesty, integrity, fairness, good faith and respect for others and the law.•Follows all agency policy and procedures and demonstrates continuous regard to personal safety and the safety of others.•Performs other appropriate job-related activities as requested by supervisor and as circumstances warrant.•Will incorporate concepts of person-centered excellence by respecting people's concerns and responding accordingly and will use teachable moments to assist people in understanding and exercising their rights.Full-time positions are eligible for these benefits:

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting with two (2) years' related experience. A combination of education and experience may be deemed acceptable by supervisor.
  • Experience with non-profit accounting preferred.
  • Current NYS driver's license, free of moving violations; deemed acceptable by our insurance carrier
Salary Description $24-$28 per hour
