The Finance Billing Assistant is responsible to help the finance team in the daily operations of the Finance Department. New Horizons will not tolerate anyone who is not committed to keeping kids safe from abuse, neglect and exploitation.Duties and responsibilitiesKeeping Kids Safe!Following the New Horizons' Employee Handbook;Billing for Family programs (FAYS, Kinship and FRC)Data entry into the state PEIRS system for FAYS, Kinship and FRCPull Medicaid billing for QRTPS and the counseling centerFoster parent data entry, including but not limited to, foster parent payroll entry, paperless filing of foster parent payroll/finance documentsTracking and ensuring that all Medicaid licensing is accurate and currentDFPS/Superior Health/Medicaid billing and data entryAssistance with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processingUnderstanding of policies and procedures as they pertain to financeMust demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills.Can effectively work out of database and utilize spreadsheets.Must communicate effectively and efficiently with all staff as needed in a professional and courteous manner.Must have basic knowledge of payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable.Must have working knowledge of Journal Entries, Accounting and Bookkeeping skills.Other duties as assignedQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent (GED)Associates degree or equivalent experienceBachelor's Degree preferred; will provide on the job training to the right candidateGeneral accounts receivable experience and medical billing preferredMust be 21 years of age or olderWorking conditionsTraditional office setting with some interaction with children in care.Physical requirementsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
