YWCA Cass Clay is currently seeking a Finance Director. The Finance Director is a key member of the senior leadership team and is responsible for overseeing all financial and accounting functions to ensure the fiscal health of the organization. This position provides strategic financial guidance, supports organizational sustainability, and ensures compliance with nonprofit financial regulations. They will lead financial planning, budgeting, risk and grant management, while fostering a mission-driven, transparent, and collaborative culture.Job Duties:Financial Management and Reporting--- Collaborate with the CEO and Board of Directors to develop long-term financial strategies aligned with the organization's mission and goals.--- Advise the CEO on future direction strategies and changes to systems that directly impact areas of responsibility, including but not limited to long range budgeting and program projections.--- Responsible for overall financial management and projections to include cash flow management, revenue and expense management, asset management, grant financial management, bank and investment accounts, fixed assets, and fundraising campaign financial activities.--- Monitor financial performance, analyze variances, and recommend corrective actions.--- Prepare and present consolidated financial reports to the Finance Committee, Executive Committee, CEO, and Board of Directors.--- Create financial forecasts and models to support program and fundraising initiatives.--- Support grant tracking, reporting, and financial monitoring for senior leadership.Policies and Compliance--- Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard financial assets, maintain integrity, and mitigate risk.--- Oversee financial aspects of grants, including budgets, reporting, restrictions, reporting deadlines, and compliance.--- Partner with program staff to ensure grant funds are utilized effectively.--- Develop and maintain policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws, as well as non-profit best practices.--- Prepare for annual financial audits, compliance audits, and the Form 990 Tax Return.--- Ensure timely filing of tax forms and quarterly/annual reports.--- Maintain insurance policies and other risk management initiatives.Operations and Oversight--- Function as administrator for the agency communication and technology systems.--- Serve as staff liaison to the YWCA Finance and Endowment Committees.--- Supervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering professional development and ensuring effective teamwork.--- Manage the processes and vendor relationships for professional services including but not limited to banking, investment, insurance, audit, and record retention.--- Maintain all contract records with outside service providers.--- Oversee financial management related to YWCA entities.Other Duties:--- Participate in organizational events as needed.--- Main confidentiality regarding clients, donors, volunteers, and staff.--- Ensure prompt and reliable attendance, including flexibility to work during project deadlines.--- Other duties as assigned.Qualifications:--- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration; CPA preferred.--- Minimum of five years of business experience required.--- Strong knowledge of non-profit financial practices, including fund accounting, grant management, and regulatory compliance.--- Proficiency in financial management software and advanced Excel skills.--- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.--- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills--- Meets all background check requirements.--- An understanding of, appreciation for, and support of the mission of the YWCA Cass Clay, which is to empower women and eliminate racism.Requirements:These physical demands are representative of the physical requirements necessary for an employee to successfully perform the essential job functions of this position. They are required to stand, walk, climb stairs, climb, twist at the waist, bend, push, carry, squat, kneel, stoop, crouch, reach overhead, and drive occasionally. Employees perform static motions such as standing in place occasionally, sit at desk continually. This employee will perform repetitive motions such as keying, data entry frequently, wrist motion continually, and reaching above shoulders occasionally.
